Passer river embankment
Running along the Passer in Merano
Urban start, alpine trail, real nature experience. This route combines everything a modern city-trail run needs.
Start at Sissipark in Merano. After a few meters, the city is left behind as you dive into greenery along the Gilf Promenade. The path rises gently, perfect for warming up, while the sound of the Passer and shaded sections quickly create a sense of calm.
Shortly after, via the stairs at the Gilf bridge, the Lazagsteig begins. This is where the route gains character: narrow trails, natural terrain, and a steady climb set the rhythm. Your pulse rises, your mind clears. Roots and short steeper sections add variety but remain manageable. Along the way, small viewpoints offer glimpses over Merano, little “wow” moments included.
Before long, you reach the Lazag, peaceful and panoramic. The perfect spot for a few deep breaths before heading back. The downhill, either on the same route or via the Gilf, flows smoothly but requires attention on the narrow paths.
Back on the promenade, you return relaxed to Sissipark, with tired legs, a clear mind, and the feeling of having escaped the city in a short time.
A run that combines sport and nature, perfect for diving straight from the hotel into Merano’s surrounding landscape.
